Overview
The Ancient Construct is a boss added in the 2.2 Patch. The Construct can easily wipe out a group of Heavy Tanks with its laser attacks that almost ignore armor. It is also immune to -effects and -effects, and highly resistant to all damage except explosive ().
That's the bad news. The good news is that the Ancient Construct can drop Units, the rare and prized Sinister and Dexter Fragments that can be obtained and be extremely versatile to an extent. It's worth noting "Sinister" and "Dexter" are old words for "left" and "right" respectively, relating to the Construct's arms.
Percival says in a later mission this monstrosity used to be an ancient garbage cleaner, and by attacking him, you awakened the ancient security defense systems, the Ancient Sentinel, which makes Morgan really annoyed thinking he lost many troops fighting a garbage cleaner.
Also the vertical laser only attacks 2 units if there is a blocking unit in the front
The Construct re-spawns in 168 hours (1 week/seven days) (also you can fight it twice on the day you first beat the Ancient Construct, as he turns into a separate occupation spot on the map when the Ancient Sentinel spawns), so you can continue to battle him for a chance at the following rewards:

Strategy
Players have found several strategies that work to defeat the Ancient Construct. There are a few things to keep in mind before trying any of them, however:
- The Ancient Construct can wipe out even tanks like swatting a fly, be prepared to lose a few units. It is NOT recommended for players unprepared for the Hospital bill or those who do not own a significant force to take the Construct down.
- The chances of a player winning with an insignificant army, such as Rank one units, is frighteningly low. Players inadequately equipped are not recommended to attempt without being prepared to lose most of their formation, or suffer a defeat. Exceptions are: Mega Tanks and Super Tanks in place of Heavier Tanks, and a Radio Tech to replace a Tank Killer.

Useful Strategy:
This strategy is useful for players that need many resources of Widgets, Laurels, Gears, Bars, etc. However, this strategy requires spending a few Nanopods and long-term ranking. However, all this time used is worth it. With this strategy, players can go on a "hunt" for the Ancient Construct parts. It also requires about 6 or 7 turns to complete. Units Required: 2 Rank 4 Mega Tanks, 3 Rank 1 or 2 Heavier Tanks, 1 Rank 3 or 4 Radio Tech, Formation: Mega Tanks on the top two left corners, a Heavier Tank between the two tanks (a one square space should be between them), two Heavier Tanks behind the two empty squares in the first row, and a Radio Tech in the middle of the third row. Procedure: Attack using the Mega Tanks (you should attack using both tanks meaning take turns between them, so when it gets stunned, there is an extra attack). Continue attacking until 6 turns and use Radio Tech's precise attack to finish the enemy. |

A common strategy:
A common strategy suggested on the Battle Nations Forums is to use 3 Heavy Tanks with 5 Tank Killers behind them. Super Tanks work better than Heavies, but this strategy works for players who don't use Nanopods, as well. Fire all Tank Killers who can reach the Construct first, then have a Heavy/Super Tank blast the rock so the Construct moves to the front row. Then unload the rest of your Tank Killers. Once they are all reloading, finish the job with any Heavy/Super Tanks that are still alive. This strategy has been confirmed to work if both the Heavy Tanks and the Tank Killers are rank 4 or higher. You may have to retreat if the Construct destroys a Tank Killer that hasn't fired yet, if too many Tank Killer shots miss, or if the Construct just destroys your front line too quickly. This strategy relies somewhat on luck, and general ends with several units down. |

Though the Ancient Construct can be faced at earlier levels, the most ideal time to engage the Construct is at player level 32, when Super Tanks are available to build. A Super Tank starts off with higher stats than the Heavy Tank, especially HP and Armor, which are key to this fight (565 vs. 375). Also, Heavy Tanks are available at level 35, 3 levels later, during which time the Super Tank and Tank Killers can be promoted in ranks. Players who do not want to spend 210 on 3 Super Tanks should wait until they have Rank 4 or 5 Heavy Tanks.
One or two ranks are suggested for the Super Tank. The Super Tanks' primary role is to shield the Tank Killers from the Construct's Slap attack. Their other job is to blow up the front-most rock obstacle to bring the Construct into range of the rear Tank Killers. They also serve as backup damage for when the Tank Killers are all busy reloading (or destroyed). The Tank Killers should be Rank 3 or higher, to increase their damage and chances for all shots in a volley to hit. It also ensures that they survive one slap attack at least. Players can reduce the reliance on luck by gauging the first few attacks, starting off with the first volley of rockets from the Tank Killers. If every rocket did not hit the Construct, retreat. If the player has some patience, then retreat and repeat until each rocket hits AND one or two did critical damage. Retreat if the Construct scores a critical hit against your units. Now make sure the second Tank Killer's shots all hit. Retreat if they didn't. Retreat if the Construct gets "lucky" during its counterattack. At this point, the player should not retreat and try to finish off the Construct, unless the battle goes south, mostly due to "bad luck", or "good luck" for the Construct. Use Tank Killers that are almost dead and sometimes it's better to fire with the Super Tank rather than using a suppressed Tank Killer. By front-loading the damage and controlling the initial results (by retreating and repeating), losses can be minimized. |

Requires: (Recommended)
Rank 3+ Tank Killer
Rank 2+ Mega Tank or Rank 3+ Super Tank
Alternatives without :
Rank 4+ Allied Cannoneer
Rank 4+ Heavy Tank
Rank 1 or 2+ Radio Tech
Set up:
The Tanks are used as meat shields, and occasionally the game ender. First, unleash your 2nd row of Tank Killer's on the Ancient Construct and when you use all three on the 2nd row, use a tank shot at the "The Rock" this opens up your last two Tank Killers, or one, for attacking. If you're using an Allied Cannoneer or a Radio Tech as a substitute, use Tank Killers. |
This is an alternative strategy with little to no casualties and without the use of but instead :

All you need are 4 Bigfoots (preferably Rank 2+) and 3 Allied Mammoth Riders (Rank 3+). Place the Bigfoots and a Mammoth Rider in the font row and the remaining 2 in the second row (one behind the Bigfoot in the middle). In the last row you place a Radio Tech. Attack the Construct with the Mammoth Riders until you can use the Radio Tech. Occasionally a Bigfoot dies which is not a big casualty if you have a good supply of Teeth and if a Mammoth Rider dies it's only Gold. You might want to destroy the Rock and attack with a Bigfoot if a Mammoth Rider dies before the Radio Tech is ready. To minimize the casualties just rank up the Bigfoots.
A slight change in this strategy can also be used. Place three Bigfoots (Rank 3+) in the front row with one space in between each Bigfoot. Place three Tank Killers (Rank 4+) behind each Bigfoot, and a Radio Tech (any rank works) in the very last row behind the middle Bigfoot. The formation is now complete, though you have an extra unit you can place. Bear in mind that the extra eighth unit is generally not even needed to win the battle. Rank 6 Wimps are recommended, due to their high damage output and cheap heal cost. A Mega Tank can also be used, though you will be taking a risk of landing it in the repair bay. Fire all three Tank Killers at the Ancient Construct. If an unfired Tank Killer is destroyed, you have the option to retreat or keep fighting. If your Radio Tech is R2 or higher, there is not much need to retreat unless the other two Tank Killers miss several shots. Your Bigfoots should not be taking too much damage at this point, thanks to their extremely high resistance to explosive type damage. After unloading your Tank Killers, either attack the Ancient Construct with your extra unit (if you brought one,) heal your Bigfoots with Nanopods, or simply pass turns. When your Radio Tech has completed the 6 turn prep time for its Precise Strike attack, unleash it on the Ancient Construct and watch it get demolished. |
Method for low-rank units:

Use 4 Rank 1 Mega Tanks, 2 Rank 1 Mammoth Tanks, and 4 Guerrillas in the back. You place the tanks and Mammoth Tanks in a checker formation or you place them in the front line for protection of the back. |
Method for non-Nano players without using stars:

Put 3 Rank 3 Heavier tanks in front, a R4 Chucker and a Tank Killer behind 2 of them and put 3 R4 Chuckers at the back row. First fire the Tank Killers, then continuously fire the Chuckers. You might lose a Heavier Tank or 2. |
