|Spawnrate||One time only|
(spawns in Lvl. 57 Sandworm encounters after first defeat)
|Mission requirements||The Ridgy-Didge|
The Emperor Sandworm is a semi-boss unit added in the 2.9 Patch. It is the biggest, meanest, toothiest, and also apparently smartest Sandworm ever encountered. Floyd calls it the Emperor Sandworm because of its ability to control other Sandworms and coordinate them intelligently against the Outpost's infrastructure. A local hunter named Bogan dubs it the "Ridgy-Didge".
The first encounter with the Emperor Sandworm is during the mission "The Ridgy-Didge". Defeating him yields a large amount of Teeth and unlocks the Big Game Hunter. It has a combined total of 1800 and 4 separate attacks, plus it is accompanied by a large group of Groundshakers, Sandworm Grublings and an Elder Sandworms.
After it is defeated for the first time, two Emperor Sandworms spawn in Level 57 Sandworm encounters along with Elder Sandworms at Bogan's House. Only the first encounter with the Ridgy-Didge will yield a large Teeth reward.
The Emperor Sandworm has very unique attacks compared to other Sandworms. It has 2 attacks which call on other smaller Sandworms to attack for him, a Sonic Boom attack similar to that of the Boom Bus and an Acid Spit attack like most Sandworms have. Despite being a semi-boss, it is a fairly simple encounter if players bring durable units.
