From the savage Raiders, to the traitorous Rebels, every enemy has a specific unit formation. The formations themselves become more organized as the player progresses through levels, and as Blocking units become available for the enemy the formations require progressively more strategy.

- Raiders are the more common attackers you will face, and there are several types of Raider which appear the same but have two different types of enemies. Raider Cannoneers may be Raider Bombardiers instead (the Cannoneers are weaker), and Raider Warriors might be Raider Grunts in some cases.

Silver Wolves[]
- Silver Wolves are a type of encounter released in the 2.0 Patch. They are very powerful, and seem to resemble gangsters. You can gain bars and gears by defeating them. It may be worth noting that there is a short low-level mission where one has to defeat a group of bandits under the name of Silver Wolves that are attacking Recoil Ridge. However, this army uses rebel troops, has the Rebel invasion image, and is made up of player-buildable soldiers (see mission Frontier Justice ). This mission is yet to be removed/edited.

Mystery Troops[]
Mystery Troops are soldiers fight with deadly laser weapons, whose attacks almost completely bypass Armor, and go straight for the HP. They have a quest chain dealing with them, and they also spawn from time to time in the Northern Frontier. Winning these battles can also yield a generous amount of Gears and Bars.
