- "If you ever thought it would be funny to tell a large number of men with no construction skills whatsoever that they have exactly one day to build the houses they are going to live in for the next several years, this is your chance for comedy."
- — In-game Description
Overview[]
The Hovel is a building that gives players 5 more workers. When it first becomes available, it can be difficult to build in bulk due to the small storage capacity players have at the beginning of the game. However, they can be useful later once players get a good storage setup with Small Warehouses, Storage Vaults and or Warehouses.
The primary attraction to Hovels is once players hit a certain point, each level raises their population cap by 5, and the Hovel adds 5 workers. Therefore, if players have hit the exact maximum population then all they need is to build a Hovel to have the maximum population for their level.
Be warned though that if you have Shacks or Antipathy Shacks, upgrade Shacks before Hovels as Shacks yield more but have the same upgrade costs.

Trivia[]
- Despite the description stating that the residents built them, the missions say Zoey built them.
